[Guide] How to Make Your Own Jam Arenas

How to make custom JAM arena

Things you’ll need:

1. Adobe Photoshop
2. Any O2JAM Server
3. An image of your choice (Should be at least 800x600..
4. A little photoshop Experience
5. Common Sense
6. THIS FILE HERE

Part 1: The Scanning.

Step1. Extract “.rar” anywhere in your computer.. it really doesn’t matter. Now get the file called “O2JamImageViewer” and paste it in your o2jam/image folder..
(Note: It is better that you back up your “Playing1.opa” file somewhere… just in case anything goes wrong)

Fig,1

(Note: Server Used.. O2JAM PH)
Be sure that the “O2JamImageViewer is in the same folder as “Playing1.opi” just like in fig.1

There should be a list of ojs and ojt names on the right side.. browse to find where the Playing_BG.ojs files are located. There are a number of Playing_BG.ojs files there… double click Any Playing_BG file and browse the arena you want to replace with your custom arena… Be sure to write it down..

In this tutorial… Im using “Playing_BG2.ojs”

After that.. close O2JAMImageviewer.. we won’t need it anymore..

Part2. Arena Making.

Step3. Open up “template.psd” (this came along with the rar file you just downloaded) and open it with Adobephotoshop.. in this tutorial.. I will be using CS3.

Go back to the layer window and drag the YIGHLayer below LAYER 7

Step 6. Run bmp2ojt

Now on the FIRST inputbox, type in file
On the 2nd inputbox, type in .bmp (note: its .bmp.. with the DOT)
check the checkbox.
And click ???ojt

When done successfully a NEW file will be created, named file.ojs

Now rename this file into the filename you just wrote… so in this tutorial, I will be renaming it into “Playing_BG2.ojs” (note: do NOT remove the file extension .ojs)

Part4. PACKING and PATCHING

Now that we have our Playing_BG2.ojs all we need to do is pack it and patch on our o2jam client

Step7. Run “Makopi”

Now click on ADD then locate the Playing_BG.ojs file we made…
Click OPEN
Then click PACK

Now on the FILENAME inputbox, type in playing1_123 and save.

PATCHING

Go to your o2jam’s IMAGE folder (where we placed o2jamimageviewer previously) and create a new folder named TEMP

Now PASTE your Playing1_123.opi file INSIDE temp folder…

After pasting.. CLOSE the temp folder

Then RUN O2JAM…

That’s IT! The old arena should be replaced by the NEW arena you made..
